In recognition of your outstanding public service and contribution for the welfare and safety of our neighborhoods, we like to present this testimonial of appreciation and commendation award to you. Your exemplary efforts in the highest traditions of the Los Angeles Police Department have brought the local Community and LAPD together in our common goal of fighting crime and improving our lives.
On behalf of the businesses and neighbors around the 8th Street and Normandie Avenue, we have requested Captain Richard Wemmer for additional enforcement and increased Police activity against illegal vendors in our area. Since you were in charge of the Area 7A39, you have taken an immediate action to remedy the problem.
For many years, illegal vendors have caused public nuisance, trash problems, increased traffic and safety risks in our area. They also disturbed the normal operation of legitimate neighborhood businesses that pay taxes and operate under the law. After your enforcement efforts, the problems are diminishing and the crime is significantly reduced in our area. We are pleased to join forces with you to improve the quality of life and public safety in our neighborhoods.
